Veterinary Assistant Supervisor

Bonnie Bunin

Bonnie joined the Gunston and Dale City Animal Hospital family in 2012 and quickly became the resident cat whisperer and has fostered several kittens through our in-house adoption program, Have-a-Heart.  She is also responsible for guiding our Veterinary Assistants and helps ensure that we continue the high level of care that we strive for.  Bonnie has a Bachelor's in English with a concentration in Creative Writing.  She is also Fear Free Certified and is currently in the Veterinary Technician program through Penn Foster.

Bonnie's inspiration is her childhood cat who was diagnosed with cancer.  During her cat's illness she learned patience, how to observe, and comfort when needed the most.  The experience made her realize how much she cared for animals and the love that she is able to share with patients who need help.  She loves working for our hospitals because she enjoys the learning environment and experiencing something new every day.

She lives with eleven cats and is proud to be a crazy cat lady!  She loves all types of crafts and the color purple.  If you've visited our hospitals you have likely seen her crafts up front which she makes to benefit our Have-a-Heart program.  She also has a "small" obsession with vampires and Celtic lore; she can nerd out wicked hard at a moment's notice.
